About the Role

 

As a service technician reporting to the Services supervisor Mobile Maintenance, you will be responsible for both infield and workshop based servicing activities across the MEM fleet. The fleet consists of 793F/NG haul trucks, Cat 994, 992 loaders, DT10/T2 dozers as well as CAT 16,18,24 and 24M graders. With autonomous haulage operations you will also be responsible for operating refuelling stations as required.

 

Key responsibilities in this role include (but are not limited to):
 

  • Oil change out and sampling
  • Checking and filling lubricant & hydraulic tanks
  • Stock monitoring
  • Filter change out and lubrication system maintenance
  • Breather maintenance and replacement
  • Lubrication system top-up and maintenance and oil analysis
  • Ensure accurate completion of technical documentation, reports as required
  • Use of computerized maintenance systems (SAP / FIORI) including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders
  • Identify, report and rectify hazards
  • Complete quality task-based risk assessments
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

 

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have the following: 
 

  • Technically minded and interested in working in a ‘hands on’ role.
  • Mining or heavy industrial/ manufacturing experience would be highly regarded
  • Experience with completing lubrication inspections, changing oil and taking oil samples, greasing and lubricating equipment is advantageous
  • Basic Lubrication Couse highly desirable- CAT SOS experience preferred
  • Forklift Licence/EWP is an advantage but can be provided
  • HR license is desirable 
  • Basic Microsoft office suite
  • Previous experience driving in open cut mines desirable

 

Please note to be considered, you must hold all relevant licenses that are applicable to your skillset as well as a valid full C class drivers licence.

 

 

Location

 

You will be based at Jimblebar mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8/6, 7/7 roster. Jimblebar is the first ever Greenfield mine to be both developed and operated by BHP Iron Ore and is located 40 km North-East of Newman, Western Australia.

The facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, netted cricket pitch, basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, Smart TV. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, smart television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
