About the Role
This is an ideal opportunity for enthusiastic, proactive and diverse Shunting Operators to join our Rail Operations Team to assist with safely moving trains and rollingstock within our Yards.
This role is a 2 week on 2 week off roster fly-in fly-out from Perth to Port Hedland. Residential opportunities also available on a roster of 6:6
Key Responsibilities
- Couple and uncouple rollingstock including splitting and joining trains and attaching/detaching ore cars
- Direct and control movement of trains and rollingstock between locations in the yards
- Conduct safety checks including brake tests and roll by inspections on Rollingstock
- Create shunting plans
- Operate and maintain radio protocols
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Qualified Shunter with heavy haul experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Category 1 Rail Medical
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong observational skills
- Knowledge of signalling equipment would be advantageous
Mandatory Requirements
- Certificate II in Shunting (or equivalent)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
