About the Role


We are seeking someone who shows passion in their work and this is evident through their drive for team development and mentoring. The right person will supervise and mentor a designated shutdown cleaning crew to help drive improvement and efficiency in the ramp down preparation of fixed plant ready for shutdown activities.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Shutdown Services, you will work in Port Hedland, which is one of the largest iron ore loading ports in the world, on a residential or FIFO arrangement, on an 8:6 roster.

 

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Supervise and mentor a designated shutdown cleaning crew
  • Liaise with production and maintenance teams to ensure plant is cleaned to an acceptable standard for maintenance work
  • Work and liaise with MCoE to develop optimal pre cleaning activities for upcoming shutdowns  
  • Ensure the team contributes to the achievement of successful ramp down of plant ready for the major shutdown maintenance window
  • Drive an inclusive and diverse culture
  • Build relationships across functions and departments to achieve positive business outcomes
  • Identify, report and rectify hazards
  • Actively drive continuous improvement and embed lessons learnt from previous shutdowns
  • Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities
  • Support the health and wellbeing of team members
  • Manage work load and capacity for the pre-cleaning activities for ramp down
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development

About You

 

  • Strong safety leadership skills and history of field leadership participation
  • Production or maintenance background
  • Be process driven
  • Experience using 1SAP work management is desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet needs of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exceptional risk management skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Sound time management skills
  • Valid Australian ‘C’ class license
  • Eligible to obtain Statutory appointed supervisor 

 

To be successful in this role you will be an effective and collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments.
