About the Role

 

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team and the individual will work collaboratively with the team and key stakeholders to provide support, guidance and produce results, including (but not limited to) the following deliverables: 

 

Core Accountabilities

  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Perform Period End Close activities and ensure ledgers close on time for Group Reporting, Tax and External Joint Venture deliverables.
  • Perform monthly general ledger accounts reconciliations and follow up outstanding reconciling items with clear resolution on a timely basis.
  • Preparation of half yearly external briefing papers, annual stewardship review, management representation letter and other reporting submissions to Group Reporting. 
  • Preparation and submission of reports or information required for joint venture partner, government and other regulatory surveys and liaising with regulatory officers on queries.
  • Support and participate to drive standardisation, improvement initiatives, collaboration and continue to embed BOS Practices in the day-to-day activities
  • Participate in internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support and coach team members to ensure Group performance targets are achieved.
     

About You


To be successful in securing this role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Completed professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA)

 

Experience and Technical Competencies:

  • Experience working with a large corporate or shared service function
  • Strong analytical skill focus on accuracy, validation and problem solving.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Macro.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, risk management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Experience working in SAP system in the areas of cost accounting and inventory costing be added advantage.
