About the Role
This role will support key month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliation activities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations;
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development;
- Execute and coordinate the period end close process, journal postings, and ensure ledgers closed on time for monthly group reporting;
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and data verification to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results reported;
- Perform reporting activities including Trial Balance Review, External Briefing Papers, Stewardship, and other post month-end reports.
- Coordinate delivery of internal and external audit requirements;
- Support and contribute to the process improvement, simplification and productivity measures in line with BOS Practices;
- Participate in SOX compliance by ensuring processes and internal controls in place are performed effectively to address the associated risks.
About You
To be successful in securing this role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA), either completed or currently pursuing will be an added advantage
Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Significant experience working with a large corporate or shared service function;
- Must have a strong financial reporting background, excellent analytical skills, and sound understanding of accounting principles
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines effectively;
- Experience in SAP application of finance modules in SAP and related systems;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Macro or Microsoft Power Apps;
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written and good stakeholder engagement.
