About the Role
We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Specialist Accounts Payable overseeing the AP work across Minerals Americas Assets. You will work collaboratively with your team and key stakeholders to provide support, and guidance to produce results, including the following deliverables:
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- To ensure accurate AP execution in order to facilitate well informed decision making and meet compliance requirements
- Support the Global Accounting & Reporting teams for all related AP accounting services including reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Work to drive standardisation, improvement initiatives, collaboration and continue to embed BHP's practices in day-to-day activities.
About You
To be successful in securing this role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA), either completed or currently pursuing will be added advantage
Experience and Technical Competencies:
- With significant years of experience working with a large corporate or shared service function
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with senior management and businesses across the globe
- Demonstrate strong business acumen, risk management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines effectively;
- Ability to solve problems and use creativity to arrive at solutions
- Proven ability to establish a clear purpose and accountabilities for teams and then hold themselves and others accountable to deliver on commitments
