BHP Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving, and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally.

About the Role

 

The Specialist Asset Strategy is a key role supporting the synergies between multiple BHP operations, functions and Assets, ensuring that we have a common approach for managing our mining equipment assets, and that equipment selection aligns with our long-term plans.


Reporting to the Lead Asset Planning, this role will support in-depth modelling and analysis and provide recommendations to the long-term selection of mining equipment. This team will provide a global view of equipment requirements and key decisions relating to repurposing, re-deployment, purchase or retirement of capital equipment.

 

This role will ensure that we deliver equipment and asset requirements to meet production demand and our decarbonization plans. Your key responsibilities include:
 

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on mobile fleet capital requirements.
  • Support mobile fleet analysis including whole of life and productivity models.
  • Develop and extend system reporting and process automation.

About You

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to tell stories through data across multiple levels of the business and disciplines.
  • Experience with the principles of holistic asset management, demonstrated experience in whole of life cycle costing and knowledge of ISO55001.
  • Experience in mobile mining equipment, application, maintenance engineering/and or studies.
  • Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • It is essential that you­ are a team player who promotes and supports workplace diversity.
  • Experience in BHP processes and systems (e.g. SAP, Asset Performance Management Tools) would be highly regarded.

Location and Roster

 

This role will be performed from our Centre of Excellence hub in the Perth, Brisbane, or Adelaide office, working Monday to Friday offering flexible conditions.
Occasional site travel is required in this role and supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around the Australia and the globe.
