About The Role:

 

The purpose of the Specialist – Asset Reliability is to coordinate personnel, systems and tools to enable the collection, analysis and prioritisation of asset health information and to ensure timely, pragmatic reduction of reliability & production risks due to fixed plant degradation. This is done by effectively deploying resources, aggregating various data sources & condition monitoring techniques and developing a clear current-state asset health register. Scope includes initiating the rectification activities (including maintenance schedule integration) and reporting on status. All activities are to be compliant with regulations and BHP’s policies, procedures and standards.

In this role you will:

 

  • Be part of a vibrant team focussed on continually improving the performance and reliability of the Carrapateena fixed plant, through application of asset health monitoring technologies to enable timely decision making.
  • Leader of the condition monitoring function for Carrapateena fixed plant
  • Ensure inspections & assessments are completed as scheduled, with any defects recorded in SAP and escalated in the event they pose a risk to the operation.
  • Integrate with maintenance planning function to ensure the timely action on any identified defects
  • Support Maintenance Execution with ad-hoc inspection & analysis.
  • Ensure all specialist tooling is managed and maintained to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
  • Undertake data analysis to identify trends and develop improvement plans
  • Management and coordination of external service providers or consultants where required to support team.
  • Actively collaborate within the team to harness the multi-discipline skills available
  • Comply with standard department business processes and communicate these effectively.
  • Seek opportunities to improve tools, practices, development of the people and processes.  Advocate for the initiation of the improvement lifecycle in solving challenges.
  • Ensure improvements are implemented in a safe, effective and financially responsible manner.

 

About You:

 

  • Desirable VCAT 3, TCAT 1, LCAT 1/MLT1 and UCAT1
  • Safety orientated with sound OH&S knowledge and specific statutory obligations
  • Extensive experience in operational site condition monitoring & NDT testing
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills using multiple data sources and established methodologies
  • Ability to provide sound, timely and pragmatic technical feedback to site teams from a variety of information sources
  • Experience using SAP CMMS.
  • Competent with Microsoft office suite.
  • Management of condition monitoring technicians and external contract resources
