About the Role
As Specialist Autonomy Support, you will play a key role in supporting the operational improvement of Autonomy Operations of Minerals Americas Copper's asset Autonomy Program, which is aligned with the objectives of BHP to become safer, lower cost, more reliable and more productive through the lever of technology. You will be tasked analyze data of autonomy operation and observe operational practices to identify and lead different initiatives to improve the operational processes in a constant cycle of improvement, along with providing technical support to the different components of autonomy, such as wireless networks, positioning-navigation systems between others. All this under the Technology mantra "Value at Speed, with a Great Heartfelt Experience".
Reporting to the Autonomy Performance team, you will lead and drive improvement initiatives in constant contact with the autonomous operations team. In this role, you will:
• Guide the operational team to deliver reliable results and meet deadlines to achieve continuous improvement in the autonomous operation and reliability of technological systems necessary for the operation of Autonomy.
• Generate a team culture of continuous improvement and lead the change.
• Generate reports of operational events and their recommendation to overcome them.
• Provide expert advice on the operation and good practices necessary for an efficient and productive operation within BHP standards, to select the most appropriate alternative.
• Provide technical support to other project and operation teams within BHP.
• Communicate the results of the audits and surveys of operational improvements to the mine autonomy operations team.
• Approach opportunities and problems from a business-first mindset.
• Responsible for the final release of operational reports.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
• Professional degree related to the role.
• Experience in Autonomy Projects or Operations in the mining industry.
• Proven experience in Minestar system.
• Availability to be on Escondida mine site to support team
• Intermediate English level.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Experience in leading stakeholders, working with them to set clear expectations, and agreed outcomes.
