Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

In The Role You Will:

  • Provide on the job coaching and mentoring for process plant operational staff in the area of safety, earthmoving equipment operation and other job-related task execution.
  • Have sound Knowledge of Excavator operating principles and techniques on Coarse Ore Stockpiles. Provide knowledge and guidance for inexperienced operators, with particular attention to detail to machine separation between dozers and excavators working together on the Stockpile.
  • Maintain earthmoving equipment reliability by liaising with the Hire Equipment Company on regular servicing, part requirements, and greasing frequency.
  • Provide in field direct leadership for the safe execution of complex or high-risk operational tasks with small teams of operators.
  • Support the Processing shutdowns/Mill Relines each quarter in setting up for success.
  • Support an environment of continuous improvement within the operating teams.
  • Support the Processing Supervisor in the execution of the day to day operational activities, to ensure safe and efficient process plant operations at the Carrapateena site which includes concentrator, tailings dam and associated services.
  • Monthly meetings with Processing Supervisors to identify any training gaps.
  • Develop and maintain competency in all operational teams for the use of heavy earth moving equipment at Carrapateena, 40T Excavator, FEL, Skidsteer
  • Support the Processing Teams in times of reduced resourcing, by learning or operating specific areas of the Plant.
  • Interface with other departments on a day to day basis to maximise value across the business chain, including the mine, SOCC and maintenance teams.
  • Liaise with Training and Isolation technicians to ensure that operational support activities for maintenance are executed to a high quality and in a timely manner and that training activities are aligned and supported.
  • Develop and approve training methods for Operations teams as needed to meet the role requirements.
  • Oversee the ongoing management of stockpile (COS).
  • Execution of small improvement projects for drainage, resurfacing and other similar activities around the plant footprint and TSF.

About You:

  • Extensive experience in a civil services earthmoving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience at leading hand or senior operator level within a minerals processing environment.
  • Previous experience in the training of technicians / operators.
  • Proficiency in operation, training and management of mobile equipment.
  • Cert 4 in Training and Assessment desirable.
