About the Role

Purpose:
•    The Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&Comms) team is responsible for establishing and driving the strategy to protect and enhance Escondida |BHP’s reputation.
•    We do this by seeking for mutually beneficial internal and external relationships, and securing the understanding and support of key stakeholders. 
•    The Communications team plays a critical role in CA&Comms. We work closely with the Escondida’s Leadership Team, internal customers and partners within and outside the company, to implement effective integrated communication strategies.
•    This role is based in Antofagasta and is responsible for the design and execution of internal and external communication deliverables, administration of internal channels, supervision and management of communication suppliers, and to directly engage with stakeholders within the company (on site).
•    We are looking for a highly capable and self-directed communications professional, with strong skills to planning and create content for leaders and different platforms.  You will report directly to the Escondida | BHP’s Communications Manager.

Core Accountabilities:
•    Develop and implement communication approach and plans for strategic and tactical initiatives.
•    Identify and produce materials, key messages and collateral to support the Company’s internal and external positioning with regards to Corporate Affairs.
•    Support internal communications for Escondida’s Leadership Team and specific internal clients.
•    Support the business day-to-day strategic Leadership communications including all significant employee communications at the mine.
•    Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with Our Requirements for Communications, Community and External Engagement, and Our Requirements for Market Disclosure, as well as Our Charter values.
•    This role is based in Antofagasta (5x2 shift).

About You

Experience and Technical Competencies:
•    5+ years’ experience in corporate communications.
•    Professional degree in related careers.
•    Experience in managing multiple issues in a fast-paced environment.
•    Experience in managing social media channels and digital platforms. 
•    Experience in speech writing and gathering research and support for content.
•    Strong written and spoken communication skills.
•    Being proactive, creative and task-oriented.
•    Good understanding of strategy formulation, articulation, monitoring and reporting.
•    Desirable English skills proficiency (written and spoken).
•    Willingness to locate in Antofagasta.
