About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Construction within the Engineering team you will oversee and coordinate assigned business partners (contractor) to ensure all tasks for the project are executed in a safe and efficient manner to the highest quality. In addition to this, your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership to promote a culture of zero harm through time in the field and ensure hazards have appropriate controls implemented
- Ensure a safe system of work is in place for each activity and all contractor personnel are appropriately aware of the systems and processes
- Demonstrate effective management of safety incidents by ensuring that incidents and hazards are identified, reported, investigated and managed
- Co-coordinate the contractor site mobilisation process in compliance with the pre-mobilisation process
- Supervision of contractor and sub‐contractor groups to ensure that technical and quality standards are achieved safely (ITPs, MDR Compilation)
- Monitor and report actual work completion against scheduled plan
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Trade qualification or higher - Recommended
- A minimum of 2 years supervision experience in mining industry is required
- Proven experience in managing contractors within a Contractor Management Framework
- Ability to build positive and sustaining relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with stringent safety policies and guidelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Proficient in BHP systems including 1SAP, Controlled Documents and Success Factors preferred
- Possess a current valid driver’s licence
Location
This is a fly-in fly-out role from Perth to Newman on 8/6 roster or Residential in Newman. You will be working at Jimblebar and/or Newman Operation mine site, located within 30 kilometres from Newman airport.
