About the Role

The Specialist Contractor Management role is based onsite at the Hay Point Terminal within the Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management team. This position is responsible for supporting Responsible Persons—such as Contract Owners, Contract Owner Representatives and Job Initiators—in the practical application of the Contractor Management Standard WHS (CMS WHS) for all contractors engaged to perform work onsite.

The Specialist Contractor Management will be assigned a portfolio of Responsible Persons across various departments, including support functions, and will act as the primary advocate for CMS WHS compliance within those designated areas.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe execution of operational activities and the effective delivery of service contracts. It involves close liaison between BMA employees, contractor companies, and their workforces, including subcontractors and independent contractors.

We currently have both 6 month and 12 month fixed term opportunities available for this position.

This is a residential role only.

Key responsibilities include:

• Govern the HPT Contractor Management System in line with the Contractor Management Global Standard, Contractor Management Standard WHS (CMS WHS), WHSQ requirements and relevant legislation.

• Advise internal stakeholders on sourcing, engagement and performance management of contract partners.

• Support Responsible Persons (Contract Owners, CORs and Job Initiators) in fulfilling their duties under the CMS WHS.

• Onboard and maintain contract partners using HPT CMS WHS processes.

• Develop, review and maintain work scopes, risk assessments and CMS WHS documentation with stakeholders.

• Support contract partners in navigating internal systems, requirements and expectations.

• Monitor, support and sustain contractor compliance with the HPT Safety and Health Management System.

• Facilitate communication channels for contract partners onsite.

• Coordinate issue resolution and disputes with Supply and Contract Owners/Superintendents.

• Facilitate meetings required under CMS WHS routines.

• Conduct in‑field verification of contractor activities.

• Manage changes to contractor work scopes, including updates to documentation and processes.

• Monitor and report on HPT CMS WHS compliance.

• Participate in Field Leadership interactions, FLEX and EMS action completion.
