About the Role
In the IPRO Contracts team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of our contracted vendors, engaging with operational, technical and commercial teams to collate feedback and provide inputs into contractor management activities.
We have a role in the Maintenance portfolio, managing contracts with mobile equipment, fixed plant maintenance, and OEM providers. If successful, you will take an active role in ensuring compliance to the WAIO Contractor Management Standard and the overall management of multi-site contracts across WAIO. The roles will have a wide-reaching stakeholder group which will require good understanding and management of customer and supplier relationships. A working knowledge of maintenance systems and practices will be beneficial.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure contract compliance with the requirements of the BHP Contractor Management Global Standard, the WAIO Contractor Management Standard and the Western Australian WHS Act and Regulations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, ensuring a productive output and strong relationships to drive value for all parties.
- Facilitate regular monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc meetings with a wide stakeholder group to monitor and improve contractor engagement, with particular emphasis on ensuring safe operations.
- Assist stakeholders on queries relating to contract scope development, issue resolution, cost management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate concerns to relevant stakeholders and coordinate the facilitation and timely resolution of variations, claims, and payment queries.
- Follow a review/approval process for the execution of contract variation/amendment requests and associated communications in accordance with company guidelines.
- Verify internal governance requirements through regular audits against a provided template.
- Advise commercial teams on strategic insights based on stakeholder feedback.

About You

Your core accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Demonstrated experience of working with contractors or administering contracts would be favourable.
- Experience within the mineral resources industry, or experience/qualification within procurement, maintenance, construction, finance or law would be favourable.
- Experience or exposure to mobile equipment and/or fixed plant maintenance processes would also be favourable but not essential.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment, and sustainable development.
- Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively.
- A great attitude towards learning and developing new skills.
- Ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at varying levels of the business.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A high level of computer literacy (specifically the Microsoft Office suite) and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional engagement and collaboration skills in managing stakeholder relationships.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Experience with SAP favourable but not essential
