About the Role

Perth City Square is home to BHP’s Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC). TROC operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week supporting a wide range of safety and production critical Operational Technology (OT) to prevent or minimise impacts to our Minerals Australia assets caused by failure in critical technology services.

This role will see you proactively support and maintain all rail systems and infrastructure. Manage system performance to ensure safe and optimal operations by monitoring, identifying solutions, manage risk, facilitating technical problem solving and drive improvement.

 

 

There are multiple positions to support this new technology within BHP and we will onboard successful candidates in 2 cohorts, March & June 2025.

 

 

You will help drive the following responsibilities:

 

 

  • Participate in the team’s performance centre ensuring focus on safety, people, production and costs, whilst tracking accountability & transparency of operational performance.
  • Execute Technology work ensuring safe systems of work, operating standards, and work management/service management processes to maximise availability and maintain business continuity.
  • Monitor alarms and diagnostic activity to identify indicators of potential or actual system risk and failures.
  • Conduct problem analysis and interpret failures or unscheduled system outage make recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with interfacing support teams to effectively coordinate response, resolution, maintenance, and improvement of rail systems.
  • Work with vendors to ensure management of processes and resolution of issues in-line with the operating model and systems.
  • Effective engagement with Technology domains, Rail operational teams as well as vendors for timely response and resolution of issues.
  • Execute Rail Technology disaster/service recovery plans and actively participate in disaster recovery testing as required.
  • Support the transition of new or enhanced Rail Technology services. Conduct analysis and reporting on system.

 

 

About You


 
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following:
 
Experience in supporting and maintaining critical technology services. 

Experience in the following activities:

 

  • Service management (Event Management)
  • Access Management systems and process
  • Monitoring Tools (preferable App Dynamics, Solar Winds, Splunk, SCOM)
  • Change Management
  • Configuration Management


Preferable experience in the following systems and applications or similar areas:

 

  • Rail Systems (CBTC, BRD, ARGUS, Rail Historian)
  • Scheduling systems (preferably Rail)
  • Monitoring Tools (App Dynamics, Solar Winds, Splunk, SCOM)
  • Technology Infrastructure (Networks, Hosting, Databases)
  • Systems Integration
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Asset management
