About Copper South Australia

 BHP South Australia Asset, Copper SA, consist of three mines, Olympic Dam Carrapateena and Prominent Hill, feeding into a central Smelter and Refinery along with an exploration project at Oak Dam. They contain some of the worlds most significant deposit of copper, gold, silver & uranium. Work Location
Adelaide Office, Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

 

 

Purpose

Support the BHP Projects team in delivering community engagement and social investment programs. Assist with Indigenous engagement, government relations, and communications activities. 

 

 

About the Role

  • Support the Corporate Affairs team with planning and execution of external engagements and events including community information sessions, site tours, social investment announcements, and charity events. 
  • Enhance BHP’s reputation, social value objectives, and stakeholder relationships through internal and external collaboration.  
  • Collaborate with various departments as required to support their success.  
  • Research and analyze community development opportunities.  
  • In collaboration with members of the Corporate Affairs team, track, monitor, and report on monthly social investment initiatives. 
  • Assist with the review and refinement of Corporate Affairs procedures.    

 

 

About You

  • Excellent Microsoft Suite and Excel skills 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and compliance data 
  • Project management skills to coordinate new and existing programs and events 
  • Attention to detail and strong commitment to BHP’s values/purpose  
  • Professional verbal and written communications 
  • Business program focused on marketing, finance, or management 
  • Strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised 
  • Previous experience in coordinating and planning events
