About the Role

 

NPI and its Engineering function based in Perth provide support for a wide portfolio and have a requirment for a specialist draftsperson to join the team.  Reporting to the Lead Water Engineer, NPI Engineering Governance & Technical Stewardship, the specialist draftsperson plays a key role in a multidisciplinary team supporting operations, maintenance and project delivery.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Maintains drawing Blueprint integrity for NPI assets
  • Scoping of drafting deliverables for Opex and Capex projects and blueprint changes to be completed by approved drafting vendors
  • Governance checks on all deliverables submitted to BHP to ensure quality and compliance with appropriate standards
  • Drafting and conceptual design
  • Support the team with the Document Management System (SPO)
  • Support Engineering work processes, standards and procedures relating to drawing management

As part of the NPI Engineering Team within BHP Iron Ore, the following attributes will be key to your success:

 

  • Discipline designer or draftsperson qualifications from recognised institute and/ or trade qualification (mechanical / structural preferred)
  • Experience drafting in Microstation V8i, 3D modelling in Microstation, Smartplant or Tekla (Mechanical / Structural)
  • Knowledge in Smartplant (or other data centric) design tools
  • Proficient in technical engineering design
  • Understanding of relevant Industry and Engineering Standards
  • Experience with CAD software and standards desirable
