About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Employee Relation, this role focuses on providing strategic guidance and implement the strategy related to employee and industrial relations, ensuring alignment with broader business strategies and the compliance of labour laws. This involves executing tasks related to the employee-employer relationship, developing the employee value proposition, and minimizing occupational risks.
Main Accountabilities
•    Work with line leadership and the relevant Head of HR BP to support Asset-specific ER strategies.
•    Support EBA/ER negotiations in coordination with the line as required (e.g., new agreements, changes to agreements), coordinating with Legal and ER to ensure compliance with internal and local requirements.
•    Provide ER advise into BHP policy and submissions.
•    Support relationship with external employee relations stakeholders and ensure regulatory engagement, in partnership with External Affairs.
•    Make representations to external bodies (e.g., DT and IPT).
•    Provide advice on managing investigations and incidents, such as harassment, disputes, and ethics and employment condition breaches.
•    Support and advise on resolution of line leader enquiries related to ER complex cases.
•    Allocate cases to line leaders and provide advice and support for managing reviews, disciplinary procedure disputes, grievances, business conduct concerns, and other investigations.
•    Conduct investigations with the line for escalated cases, and cases that represent an Asset-level risk or priority.
•    Provide specialist advice to line leaders on performance management.
•    Execute and advise on E2E termination process, with input from Legal where required.
•    Provide information and advice for the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
•    Support ER and Legal for an adequate defense in trials.
•    Report ER relevant information for Remuneration and Internal Process (bonuses, contributions, membership).
•    Perform ownership of governance and maintenance of local vendors and tools.
•    Support deployment for relevant ER strategies and programs.
•    Complies with the internal policies and procedures,and ensure a company fulfillment.

About You

•    A tertiary degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related discipline
•    Years of experience working in ER areas
•    Strong and demonstrated knowledge of Chilean Labor Legislation
•    Experience in management of investigation and termination process 
•    Experience interacting with government authorities
•    Manages multiple tasks simultaneously
•    Strong communication skills
•    High level of Strategic problem-solving
•    Negotiation Skills
•    Strong data analytics and governance skills
•    Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency
•    Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•    Experience in working in a global environment
•    Overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
