About the Role

 

Enterprise Mining Probabilistics (EMP) is a new and innovative approach to mine planning for stable, predictable business plan delivery. Its focus is on managing the critical paths in execution using a project management approach to reduce variability and increase bottleneck performance, delivering stable mining operations for BMA.

 

Reporting to the Critical Path Project Management (CPPM) Superintendent, the Specialist CPPM at Peak Downs Mine will be responsible for:

 

  • Management of the 24 hour mine plan
  • Identification, scoping, plan generation and scheduling of Enabling Activities; and
  • Monitoring and management of compliance to Critical Path.

 

This role requires you to develop effective working relationships with the operational and short-term scheduling teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of the 24 hour plan and Enabling Activity plans and schedules.

 

This role is offered on an 8/6 day shift only.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and support a strong safety culture through visible field leadership, hazard identification, completion of BMA Take 5 activities, participation in investigations and compliance with the Site Safety and Health Management System.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise the 90-Day Project Activity Schedule, ensuring alignment between mine planning horizons and operational priorities.
  • Develop and deliver robust designs for Mine services Enabling activities.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs including work scope development, equipment sequencing, task dependencies, durations, and resource allocation requirements of Enabling activities.
  • Monitor critical path activities, identify schedule risks and constraints, and support delivery of business targets through effective planning and forecasting.
  • Provide schedule reporting, performance analysis and variance management to drive schedule reliability and plan stability.
  • Partner with Mine services, Operations, Maintenance and Technical Services teams to ensure successful execution of the schedule and alignment to plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the application of EMP methodologies, schedule governance processes, and planning improvement initiatives.

 

 

About You

 

  • Demonstrated experience in mine planning, mine scheduling, production engineering or operational planning roles.
  • Experience using scheduling and planning systems such as CiteOps, Spry, Deswik, Vulcan, SAP or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of the mining value chain and the interaction between planning and operational execution.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability, with the ability to influence across planning, technical and operational teams.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining schedule quality and accuracy.
