About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Finance and based in Muswellbrook, NSW you will be responsible for influencing and challenging the Site teams in cost control, productivity, capital allocation, capital efficiency and continuous improvement. You will provide financial guidance, coaching, direction and analysis to facilitate well-informed decisions and to create and protect value.
In this role you will:
- Assist in proactive cost management by contributing to performance routines and reporting.
- Support core planning deliverables for the site, including input into 2-year business plans, quarterly forecasts, and capital portfolio prioritisation.
- Engage with operational and project teams to identify, advise and evaluate productivity and value creation initiatives.
- Identify, analyse and provide recommendations to resolve commercial and financial issues when they arise.
- Provide financial governance and analytical oversight, with a data-driven approach to problem solving.
- Support opportunity framing, valuations, benchmarks and business case development for capital projects.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, with a commitment to timely valuation of business cases and key value drivers ensuring improvement efforts are focused on the things that matter most.
About You
Our Specialist Finance professionals come from a variety of financial backgrounds. You might currently be working in a similar role within the mining or resources sector, or you could be working in finance across different industries, bringing a unique perspective and skillset to our team.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- Enthusiastic, confident self-starter, with the ability to motivate and work autonomously.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and delivery, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and functional teams to drive outcomes.
- Ability to proactively identify and resolve complex problems, think outside the box and drive change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships, communicate and influence across levels of the organisation to drive the right value outcomes.
- Financial system experience (with SAP and PRIME) preferred but not essential.
- A degree qualified professional in a related field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, MBA) with strong commercial acumen and finance exposure.
- Advanced Excel skills
