About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Financial Governance, this role is accountable for supporting Financial Governance activities across the Group, including execution of the Group’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Program of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, specifically in Commercial (Marketing and Supply), and the annual Stewardship process.
In this role, you will also be responsible for supporting and administering:
- Preparation of Representation Letters
- Other Services Report (OSR) process
- Auditors Remuneration Notes
- External auditor independence management inquiries
- External auditor fees
- PCAOB and FASB annual payments
- Australian audit fee accruals
About You
We seek an individual who is a self-starter, with a strong understanding internal controls, a curious mindset and the desire for improvement to join the Financial Governance team as a Specialist Financial Governance.
The successful applicant will have:
- Commitment to BHP Charter Values and Global Standards, including a commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
- Proven experience in audit or financial reporting and governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a current professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting
- Advanced capability in undertaking analysis of data to identify trends and potential improvements
- Experience in a Financial Accounting role and with Finance Modules in SAP (preferred)
