About the Role
We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team and the individual will work collaboratively with the team and key stakeholders to provide support, guidance and produce results, including (but not limited to) the following deliverables:
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- Demonstrate overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development
- Preparation and coordination of annual statutory accounts within submission timeline and in compliance with IFRS and applicable policies. In addition, completion of audit processes through liaising with external auditors, and obtaining relevant internal GLD approvals before accounts are presented to Company Secretary and Directors for review
- Month end reporting deliverables (monthly and quarterly journal postings, error checks, trial balance review, financial statements commentary analysis) within stipulated group reporting calendar
- Perform monthly general ledger accounts reconciliations and follow ups, with submission on timely basis
- Financial accounting and daily management of corporate entities to ensure compliance and solvency, along with execution and coordination of corporate transactions (capital injections, internal dividends, intra-group funding) working closely with stakeholders such as ICM and Finance Business Partners
- Compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements working closely with internal auditors on annual IAA / SOX testing and walkthroughs
- Preparation of half yearly external briefing papers, annual stewardship review, management representation letter, and other reporting submissions to Group Reporting. In addition, to liaise and provide information to Group Reporting on specific queries from time to time
About You
To be successful in securing this role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA), either completion or currently pursuing will be added advantage
