About the Role 

   

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Minerals Australia Projects Health Safety Security (HSS) team in the role of Specialist HSS supporting WA Asset Projects Delivery Portfolio. This role will provide HSS functional support for a portfolio of projects in execution between $20M to $250M, across a broad range of exciting areas supporting BHP growth, sustainability, closure, and social value improvements.  

 

In this role you will provide safety subject matter expertise support to a range of projects currently being executed by project teams. The support will be provided to the project teams, contracting partners, owners team leaders and supporting functional teams, project controls, commissioning and operational readiness. You will support project delivery from execution planning, tender, award, mobilisation and through to execution across a portfolio of projects, drawing on your deep projects and mining experience.   

 

The role is FIFO based on a 5/2/4/3 roster.

 

In this role you will: 

  

  • Provide support to project teams in delivery of safety improvement initiatives 
  • Participate in and facilitate investigations and provide process guidance, coaching and quality review; 
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through ongoing engagement with site leaders, encouraging and coaching quality field verifications and demonstrating expected standards. 
  • Thorough review of site and industry HS events, encourage a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements. 
  • Participate in risk assessments and provide quality reviews. 
  • Work closely with contracting partners, owners team leaders, project controls, commissioning, and operational readiness teams. 
  • Promote consistent application of safety standards and ensure alignment with internal and regulatory requirements. 

About You 

  

  • Qualifications in Health, Safety, Science or a related field.  
  • Experience in safety roles within mining project environments.  
  • Proven ability to influence and coach across diverse stakeholder groups.  
  • Proficiency in HSE systems and data analytics tools.  
  • Contractor management or projects experience is desirable
