About the MinAu East Infrastructure and Services Team:
The MinAU East team in Procurement is embedded with our BMA and NSWEC Asset customers. This customer facing and delivery team represents the Asset within the broader Procurement function and ensures alignment, accountability and delivery of the outcomes that matter most to our execution and Asset leadership teams.
The Infrastructure and Services Team has a remit which includes procurement relating to critical enabling infrastructure across the Assets: airports, village accommodation & housing, people logistics, water, security and emergency management services and more. This team works in partnership with the Asset Infrastructure & Services General Manager, Head of Health, Safety & Emergency Management, and their leaders.
About the Role
As a Specialist in the Infrastructure & Services team, you will be a key enabler supporting the broader procurement function by providing high-quality problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and business acumen. As a team player, you will generate cohesive and holistic strategies, using your critical thinking skills to connect the dots, challenge conventional thinking, and enable business step change.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support direct tendering, negotiation & implementation of Tier A & B contracts across BMA I&S to reduce total cost & risk to the business
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management up to and including close-out
- Facilitate contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting with relevant Contract Owner (KPI reporting, spend analytics, claims management, and off-contract spend)
- Vary contracts as required including updating or expanding Scopes of Services and Schedules of Materials.

- Strong commercial acumen and familiarity with alternative commercial models.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Skilled collaborator who builds alignment across teams and functions.
- Proven ability to conduct analysis, ensure accurate and up-to-date data from various sources, and interpret complex results to identify key opportunities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge pre-established conceptions.
- Strong understanding of business improvement principles and practices.
- Ability to influence and obtain buy-in for new ideas with particular focus on senior leaders.
