About the Role


The Mastery Program is a critical and integral part of the Operations Services operating model, enabling excellence through the continuous upskilling and development of our people. The Mastery Program strives to establish Mastery standards of performance across key activities in Safety, Leadership, Maintenance, and Production.

 

We now have an opportunity in the Mastery and Technical Capability team for an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about sharing knowledge and enabling people to be the best they can be. This role, reporting to the Superintendent Technical Capability, is based across our deployments on site in Western Australia (8/6 FIFO) and is essential to the efficient and effective operation of the Mastery Program.

The purpose of the Specialist Mastery is to undertake comprehensive coaching
and integration activities with Supervisors and our frontline teams for the successful implementation of the Mastery Program in Operations Services.

The work of this role includes:

 

  • Active participation, compliance and contribution to the effective operation of BHP’s relevant Health and Safety policies and systems. 

  • Input to the design and development of an effective planning and integration methodology for Mastery Program implementation across all Operations Services deployments in Minerals Australia. 

  • Work with the frontline and other stakeholders to continually improve Mastery implementation and integration methodology to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness in the planning and execution of the Mastery Program.

  • Identifying and prioritising areas of work undertaken by the frontline that provide opportunities for coaching and verification against the Mastery Standards.

  • Supporting the team’s work with Analytics and Planning (A&P) and Technology groups in the implementation of systems required for the effective delivery, adoption and performance of the Mastery Program across OS. Efficient and effective execution of projects or tasks assigned by the role manager, directly or by role customers. Effective team membership and collaboration within teams to deliver high quality services in support of the frontline implementing the Operations Services Mastery Program.

About You


This role would ideally suit candidates with a training background, Reliability Engineers or experienced tradespeople seeking to develop the workforce of the future.


The successful candidate will have:
 

  • Qualifications or similar experience as trainer, coach, quality assessor or educator in a comparable industry and environment.

  • Strong communication and engagement skills and proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organisation from senior management to mine site leaders and technicians.

  • Skills and experience in the use of technology in managing work processes, data capture and performance reporting.

  • Good understanding and skills in the field of work process analysis and improvement.

  • Very good organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge and experience in training and development in the resources industry would be highly regarded.
