About the Role
Reporting to the BOS Lead, this position based at our Prominent Hill Mine, is accountable for the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives using the BHP Operating System (BOS), for the site by effectively influencing and collaborating across departments and workstreams in a customer forward facing role. You will contribute to ensuring BOS principles and practices are adopted and applied in a consistent and sustainable way across all levels of the enterprise, enabling improvement and exceptional outcomes in key safety, productivity, and cultural metrics.
This role is Permanent and based at our Prominent Hill Mine site on a FIFO basis ex Adelaide or Port Augusta. The roster supported is 8 days on / 6 days off.
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement performance targets: Plan and deliver work to support the achievement of performance targets and supports the resolution of any problems that arise, escalating as appropriate.
- Monitor and analyse key performance metrics: Regularly review and monitor operational performance (i.e. on a daily, weekly and monthly basis) to assess and communicate the achievement of key performance metrics.
- Implement approaches to drive consistent performance measurement standards: Extract various data sets and employ the right tools and processes to deliver insightful metrics reports and validate the accuracy of performance metrics in alignment with BHP's data standards.
- Navigates and support the application of core processes and systems in the business: Perform basic navigation exercises using the appropriate functionality in the relevant systems and enterprise applications (e.g. ARIS, SAP), leveraging the relevant training, processes and protocols to do so.
- Build rapport and alignment on coaching objectives: Build rapport and put people at ease by asking open questions, actively listening, and balancing advising and facilitating during coaching conversations.
- Coach and provide feedback & perspective on BOS Practices: Role model the practical application of BOS principles, practices and tools to set an example and show what good looks like for others to follow.
- Identify and overcome barriers to BOS Implementation: Identifies BOS implementation challenges/barriers and offer support to individuals to help them achieve their specific goals.
- Support the BOS transformation: Coach front line leaders and operators on the "Why", "What" and "How" of BOS and the practical significance of BOS to improving BHP's performance and culture
About You
You will have the following skills to be successful in this role:
- Experience in supporting BOS Deployments and or worked in an area that has a high level of BOS methodology maturity.
- You will have a high level of data analytical skills as well as confidence in stakeholder engagement, enabling you to identify opportunities and share the value.
- You will have an understanding/exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change.
- You will be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor and through your strong improvement, leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- You will be comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and delivering outcomes in a matrix environment using your collaboration, engagement, influence, and coaching skills.
- You have prior experience as a Leader or Technical Professional
- You have a common knowledge/understanding of business processes (including terminology, key operational processes and their inter-relatedness)
- Able to demonstrate basic techniques/concepts and complete end-to-end activities associated with business processes (including terminology, key operational processes and their inter-relatedness, key business activities within and between functional areas, and modelling business processes).
