About the Role

Operations Services is seeking a Production Mastery Specialist reporting to the Superintendent Mastery. This role is critical in supporting Production Leaders to develop their teams and achieve consistently high levels of performance through the Mastery Program.

You will work closely with Production Leadership to identify opportunities for improvement and coach frontline Supervisors and their crews in the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment. The role also contributes to the development of key standards that underpin capability uplift across Production.

The primary purpose of the Production Mastery Specialist is to build and sustain high levels of Production capability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Production leaders, particularly Supervisors, to build capability within their teams
  • Support the ongoing development, refinement, and implementation of the Operations Services Mastery Program, specifically for Production Operations
  • Contribute to the creation and deployment of Production Standards, upskilling resources, and verification tools
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop methods and materials that enable frontline teams to consistently meet Production Standards
  • Conduct performance verifications against Production Standards, including coaching others in assessment and verification processes
  • Monitor Production crew performance and provide targeted support to ensure standards are consistently met and sustained
  • Foster positive and effective collaboration across Production and Training teams through both formal routines and informal engagement.

About You

You ideally possess:

  • A strong background in Mining Production Operations
  • Proven performance as a leader or high performer in Production Operations (e.g., Supervisor, Leading Hand, Trainer). Experience at Supervisor or Superintendent level is highly regarded.
  • Exposure to, or participation in, the OS Mastery Program (highly advantageous)
  • Strong coaching and advisory capability, with a passion for building skills in the operating environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all organisational levels
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in using technology to support work management, data capture, and performance reporting
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies
  • A track record of influencing and empowering others to achieve high performance, backed by energy, initiative, and practical experience
  • Exposure to the BHP Operating System (BOS) is advantageous.
