About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Governance and Technical Stewardship, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise to the operation. This will involve the execution of tasks associated with providing mechanical engineering technical support and ensuring a robust risk and benefit-based assessment process is followed for engineering applications.
This role offers the opportunity to challenge yourself and explore various career pathways within BHP. This position will be based at Saraji, Monday to Friday, offering flexible work arrangements.

Provide specialist mechanical engineering expertise and ensure robust change control processes and documentation standards are followed.

Govern and control the asset integrity of the operation through identification and implementation of improvement initiatives.

Participate in reviews and audits and collaborate with discipline engineers across BMA.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems.

Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.

Support and govern the accurate maintenance of the Operation's blue print (engineering standards, specifications drawings, processes, systems and procedures), ensuring approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure.

Generate and review designs, technical assessments and reports to communicate requirements.

Establish and maintain close working relationships with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants and contractors.

Support the integrated delivery of projects by the site Engineering team, asset projects or major projects group as required.

Contribute to the development of the site's five year capital and operational budgets.

Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process.

About You
Skills and Other Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with CPEng or RPEQ status advantageous.
- Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and previous exposure in Coal, mining or heavy industry.
- Experience as or working for a Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with Fire Systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with brownfield equipment installations and In-service repair scope development.
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical input to design and project execution, with an overarching drive for safety leadership.
- Well-developed communication and engagement skills with an interest in providing technical leadership, stewardship, support and solutions.
