About Technology Function

 

 

The Technology Function has been progressively supporting more and more production critical systems and services further linking the work of technology professionals to the safe and productive operations of our mining fleets. Technology is making further steps to integration into the daily routines of our mine sites providing site based and logical remote support for operations, technical changes, governance and optimisation of the current and future systems of mining.

About the Role

 

Mining Systems East is a department within the Technology Function dedicated to supporting a broad range of mobile mining fleet systems including Autonomous and Manned Fleet Management systems and the networks supporting them. The department is looking for a Specialists Mining Systems with experience in Fleet Management Systems.


Key responsibilities include:

 

 

  • Specialists level technical support (Incident and Problem Resolution) for our Caterpillar Fleet Management Applications.
  • Following the change process to ensure the technology blueprint is maintained and changes are implemented in line with business standards and requirements
  • Stakeholder engagement of OEM support and operational teams to support delivery against operational safety and productivity targets
  • Involvement, support and initiation of improvement initiatives to optimise the application of technology systems to coal mining operations

About You

 

We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships across all our stakeholder groups and the broader Technology team along with providing technical input to our site operations, external vendors and OEMs to deliver against the KPI’s of the role.

 

This engagement will require occasional visits to our operating sites with overnight or longer stays required to support site based resources and monitoring and engagement with stakeholders.

 

You will be self-motivated to drive safety and productivity improvements through the intelligent application of technology to our current and future mining processes.

 

You will have access to technology that will enable you to work flexibly when the role allows.

 

Skills and Other Qualifications

 

  • To be successful in this role, you will have a background in the support of fleet management applications
  • Experience in Caterpillar (Fleet, Terrain) or Komatsu (Dispatch, Provision, Pegasys or Argus) Technologies is desirable
  • Experience in the management of incidents, changes, problems utilizing ITIL Methodologies.
  • Tertiary or industry qualifications are desirable but not required and can be substituted or supplemented by on the job training and experience developed through industry exposure and accountabilities


 

Location


You will be based in Brisbane, Queensland with access to BHP offices in Brisbane and site offices where your support accountabilities are required.
