About the Role
Our Mining Systems team delivers and supports advanced mobile technologies across QLD and NSW coal operations. From Fleet Management and Machine Guidance to Asset Health, Distraction Monitoring, and Remote & Semi-Autonomous Dozing, we enable safer, smarter, and more productive mining.
We’re seeking a Mining Systems Specialist to provide technical support and help transform mining performance through systems expertise, data-driven insights and smarter technology. You’ll work across Caterpillar service lines including:
- Fleet Management (MineStar Fleet)
- Machine Guidance (MineStar Terrain)
- Asset Health (MineStar Health)
- Distraction Monitoring (DSS)
- Remote Control & Semi-Autonomous Dozing (Command for Dozing, NLoS Non Line of Sight and Semi-Autonomous)
What you’ll do:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and problems for operational technology systems
- Manage change processes to maintain technology standards and maintain system availability
- Collaborate with OEMs and site teams to meet safety and productivity targets
- Lead improvement initiatives to optimise technology support, functionality and reduce costs
- Plan lifecycle upgrades for hardware and software reliability
- Support capital projects with technical scoping and business case input
About You
You’re passionate about technology and its role in transforming mining. You thrive in a collaborative environment and bring strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Skills and Other Qualifications
Your background includes:
- Degree or trade certification in Mining, Computer Science, or Electronics
- Experience with Caterpillar MineStar service lines (MineStar Fleet, Terrain, Health, DSS, Command for Dozing)
- Experience in optimisation of technology system performance, functionality and usability within a mining environment
- Knowledge of ITIL methodologies for incident, change, and problem management
- Data analysis skills (SQL, Power BI) – highly desirable
- Experience with observability and automation for incident management – desirable
