About IPRO 

 

BHP Western Australia Iron Ore’s Integrated Operations (IO) team manages the Iron Ore supply chain via scheduling, forecasting, deviation management, controlling and inventory accounting across mine, rail and port operations. With an over-arching focus on safety, the IO team brings dedication, innovation and values to execute and improve productivity, safety and environmental impact. 

 

About the Role 

 

As a Mining & Technical Document Governance Specialist you will play a key role in enabling strong alignment between Production Scheduling and our broad group of stakeholders by developing, organising, and writing relevant documentation to support the delivery of high quality mine designs and plans to safely execute. 

 

You will assist Production Scheduling by developing strategies to transform mining technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documents. The scope of work will also include the support of the PS critical risk management process through the connection and alignment of different procedures and documents. 

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling & Integration, you will play an integral role by: 

 

  • Gathering information from subject-matter experts to develop, organise, and write a variety of technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Quick Reference Guides and other technical documentation to support mine planning and execution activities
  • Review, analyse, and organise complex technical information into clear, concise, and readable documents
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organisational standards, establishing and adhering to style guidelines; ensuring technical accuracy and document completeness
  • Develop internal scheduling and tracking systems to control critical document updates and ownership
  • Use the BOS methodology to support 5S process for relevant Production Scheduling documents
     

About You

 

As the successful candidate, you will have: 

 

  • Previous exposure to mining related processes, mine planning technical processes, routines and software
  • Good understanding of mine design, scheduling and mining execution processes
  • Ability to evaluate and analyse complex information and a natural desire to help people understand it
  • Excellent written and communication skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work 
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and explain them clearly
