About the Role

BHP Technology is looking for a Specialist OT Operations Technician to work at our Saraji Mine Site in Queensland. The role is responsible for undertaking preventative maintenance and providing technical field support for the mine sites Operational Technology Systems. The role is a Full Time position with BHP on a non-FIFO 7/7 roster working 12 hour days.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Ensuring day to day availability and maintenance of site’s Two-way radio system and fleet installations.
  • You will be required to assist in the installation and maintenance of Wireless Telemetry Systems (WTS).
  • You will be required to assist in the installation and maintenance of Production and non-Production CCTV Systems, Fleet Management System, Physical Access Management System and/or other OT systems as the need arises.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues.
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
  • Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.
  • Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Trade certificate in Telecommunications, Radio Communications, Electronics & Communications, Auto Electrical or other related fields.
  • Experience with Analogue and Digital 2-way radio systems, Motorola MX series repeaters, Motorola P25 systems and Motorola APX portable/mobile digital radios.
  • Experience with Multiplexing systems, E&M signalling and Point to Point links.
  • A proven track record of Safety within an operational environment.
  • An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proactively build relationships with customers/partners.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with a diverse and inclusive team and work environment.
  • Australian C class driver’s license
  • Coal mine exposure would be advantageous
  • Experience is 1SAP would be advantageous
  • ACMA Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence preferable
  • EWP High Risk Work Operation Ticket preferable
