About the Role

 

BHP Technology is looking for an Operational Technology Technician to work at our Goonyella Riverside Mine Site in Queensland. The role is responsible for undertaking preventative maintenance and providing technical field support for the mine sites Operational Technology Systems. The role is a Full-Time position with BHP on continuous roster (7/7 – D/N) providing 24/7 coverage.

 

This is a residential (Moranbah) or BIBO/DIDO role.

 

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring day to day availability and maintenance of sites Operational Technology Systems

  • Experience in the following Operational Technology Systems would be considered; Fleet Management Systems (Modular and Terrain), Digital Radio (DRS), Network and Servers, CCTV, Wireless Telemetry System (WTS), LTE networks, Fuel Management systems, Site control systems (PLC/SCADA) and site security access system.

  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues.

  • Execute work orders as per schedule and/or directed by the Technology supervisor and completing the relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.

  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.

  • Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.

  • Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required.

  • Complete work management processes during shift and update supervisor.

  • Step up supervisor when required.

About You

As the successful candidate will have:

 

  • Trade certificate in Auto Electrical, Radio/LTE/Industrial Wireless Communications, Electronics or Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation

  • Familiarity with mining Operations Technology, Digital Radio, Fleet Management, Communication Networks (WTS/LTE), control systems (PLC/SCADA) and Fuel Management

  • A proven track record of Safety within an operational environment

  • An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Proactive in identifying areas of improvement in the management of Technology systems.

  • Takes ownership of ideas/solutions and sees them through to maturity.

  • Build relationships with customers/partners/site departments

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills

  • Australian C class driver’s license

  • Coal mine exposure would be advantageous

  • Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence preferable

  • Desirable experience:

  • SAP Work Management

  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and First Aid training
