Job Description

This interesting position, under BHP Brazil structure, it´s about lead the integration of individual KFAs (Key Focus Areas) within the NOJV (Non Operated Joint Venture) Brasil SME (Subject Matter Experts) Directors structure, coordinating various disciplines and functions (including Strategy, Commercial, HSE and External Affairs) in supporting the optimal performance of KFAs in alignment with the overarching strategy for Brasil, working in a way that protects and enhances BHP’s reputation through excellent communications management, stakeholder management and risk and value management, consistent with the BHP Brasil BOS (BHP Operating System) doctrines.
Also, drives the monitoring and governance of the KFAs, actively seeking opportunities in conjunction with the broader PMO function, for value creation, by setting program-wide strategies for standardisation, replication and continuity
Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the KFA Owners regarding planning, performance evaluation and continuous improvement and reports overview of KFA performance to the NOJV Brasil Leadership Team


  • Works with BHP NOJV Brasil Directors and KFA Owners on creating, implementing and executing common tools, strategies, management plans, methods, techniques and systems that maximise the performance of KFA teams.
  • Executes and implements the principles, practices and routines of the BOS on behalf of the BHP Brasil PMO function
  • Supports KFA Owners and teams, in line with KFA Business Plans, in establishing their annual and quarterly KPIs 
  • Monitors and reviews KFA KPIs, including contributing to their continuous improvement in the quarterly routines as set out in the BOS
  • Identifies KFA performance deviation from plan, ensuring root causes are adequately managed, rectified and communicated
  • Contributes to the identification and management of KFA risks, communicating with the relevant stakeholders and identifying solutions 
  • Engages stakeholders to ensure alignment of individual KFAs with the overarching Brasil objectives
  • Supports BHP NOJV Brasil Directors and KFA Owners in the assimilation and drawing of insight from a variety of data sources to support data driven decision making, including the subsequent updating of plans and schedules within the KFA teams

Skills and Other Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Law, Engineering or related discipline essential 
  • 3+ years’ Project Management experience, in positions including strategy, delivery, risk management, project controls, commercial, legal and/or regulatory compliance, throughout all project lifecycle phases 
  • Understanding of Project Management disciplines, techniques and methodologies is required 
  • PMO experience is an advantage
  • Experience in either projects/operations or technical roles (Consultant, Vendor, Functional Expert) welcome 
  • Fluent in Portuguese
  • Fluent in English
