About the Role

As an experienced Specialist – Processing you will assist in maintaining quality output in all operational areas of responsibility, whilst also building and maintaining effective systems that will deliver the highest levels of safety and performance whilst achieving production targets.

With your experience you will be required to operate all disciplines of the Plant including; crusher, grinder, flotation, filtration, utilities, control room and paste plant areas as well as managing your crew effectively in the day-to-day operation of the Processing Plant. 

 

Location: Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

Roster:  8 days on; 6 days off Dayshift then 7 nights on; 7 nights off

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

  • Manage and assist in the achievement of production KPI’s and targets (eg. Copper metal)
  • Manage team members in the workplace as required.
  • Build and maintain effective systems that will deliver the highest levels of safety and performance whilst achieving production targets.
  • Assist in maintaining quality output in all operational areas of responsibility.
  • Manage and assist in prioritising and troubleshooting issues in the day-to-day operation of the plant.
  • Ensure requisite materials, including safety equipment, are available to team members.
  • Ensure safe isolation of plant for work to be conducted and that all work procedures are followed.
  • A broad awareness of operating costs and adherence to budget requirements
  • Participation in capital projects development and implementation as required.
  • Assist and complete in completion of shift logs including all relevant information for effective handover.
  • Shutdown Isolation Coordination.
  • Attend all toolbox meetings and Pre shift meetings and be involved and promote team participation.
  • Inspect and report all safety hazards/risks and events according to site procedures in a timely manner.
  • Assist in communication of targets so all team members are aware of what is required to maximise safety and production.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and mining regulations including occupational health and safety.

About You

  • Highly demonstrated experience in a base mineral processing operation and some level of leadership within that period
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of production, maintenance and shut down of all areas of processing plant.
  • Previous experience prioritising and organising maintenance to cause the least disruption to the processing plant.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Prior experience performing job observations to ensure tasks are being risk assessed, hazards are being identified and correct controls put in place.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a professional team to deliver results in a high-pressure, time sensitive environment.
  • Safety leadership skills to work with and across all teams and areas on site.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all Plant Operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to utilise the strength of others to achieve goals and use interpersonal skills to lead, coach and develop others

  • Certificate III in Resource Processing and Metalliferous Mining
  • Current National Police Check (NPC)

The following qualifications, accreditations, and licenses are desirable for this role:

  • Valid Work Safely at Heights, Enter & Work in Confined Spaces, Gas Test Atmospheres, Forklift, Boom Type Elevated Platform, Fire Warden, Skid Steer Loader, Front End Loader, Provide First Aid inc CPR & Drivers’ licenses/tickets
  • Prepared to obtain & undergo training for Certificate IV in Frontline Management and Training & Assessment
