About the Role

 

 

Reporting to the Lead Procurement Plant & Processing category, the role drives performance and excellence through the Procurement team, delivering world class commercial outcomes for BHP's operations in Chile.

 

Main Acountabilities:

 

•    An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
•    Develop effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective.
•    Identify opportunities to execute initiatives to reduce external spend.
•    Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives. 
•    Identifies and implements improvement initiatives in the Plant & Processing category, managing our portfolio and creating synergies with other subfunctions.
•    Generates action plans along with the operation to achieve commercial and productivity KPIs for Plant´s areas.
•    Identifies and implements improvement initiatives in Plant & Processing category, managing our portfolio and creating synergies with other subfunctions.
•    Work collaboratively across Supply (Region, Global and across sub-functions) and operational stakeholders to develop and execute category strategies, opportunities to reduce external spend through demand, price and productivity levers. 
•    Collects requirements and analyses key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to build robust category and sourcing strategies. 
•    Leading sourcing and negotiation strategies using market intelligence and best practice tools such as clean sheeting, e-Auctions, TCO analysis, others. 
•    Ensures integration of the category strategy across the function (Purchasing, warehouse, inventory, logistic, COMEX, Payments, A&I, Marketing) and Operations, to ensure lowest inbound supply chain cost. 
•    Creates, manages and monitors contracts. Performs contract variations in line with business requirements. 
•    Executes supplier performance reviews to track performance with contract and business requirements. 
•    Establish collaborative spaces work with main stakeholders through standardized routines.
•    Applies an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value.  

 

 

About You

 

 

To be a top performer you will need:

 

•    A bachelor's degree related to the role. 
•    3+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on supply chain management or production areas related to Processing Infrastructure.
•    Proven ability to influence and engage across functions and mine operations sites. 
•    Ability to analyses complex business processes, risk factors and control systems. 
•    Proven competences in financial evaluations and commercial project models. 
•    Knowledge on materials management and logistic process.
•    Risk management skills. 
•    Advanced Spanish and English proficiency. 
•    Experience on SAP System, Office and Contract Management.
