About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Major Maintenance Execution, this diverse and fast-paced role will drive the successful delivery of multiple high priority capital projects within the Olympic Dam portfolio.

 

This is an exceptional opportunity to combine your technical understanding and work across a broad range of stakeholders to effectively execute.

 

This role is based at Olympic Dam on a 5/2, 4/3 basis (with flexibility as discussed with your leader) and can be offered as FIFO from Adelaide or residential at Roxby Downs.

 

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

 

  • Demonstrating an overriding commitment to the BHP Charter values
  • Delivery of the planning, safe execution, and commissioning of packages according to agreed scope, budget, schedule, and relevant standards and specifications
  • Actively managing the contractor relationship ensuring compliance with the BHP Contractor Management Framework
  • Completing End of Month reporting, demonstrating control, management and forecasting of all project costs
  • Providing input into the portfolio budgets, plans and schedules and where required, supporting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments and project business cases to obtain project approvals
  • Producing the specified key deliverables, including documentation, within projects in a timely manner and to an appropriate quality
  • Effectively engage with internal and external parties to ensure that pathways are provided for success
  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team

About You

 

To be successful in this role you are a highly motivated and engaged individual with high-level influencing and stakeholder management skills. You are team-orientated and results-focused with demonstrated success working with others and driving outcomes to achieve results.

 

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following specific skills and experience:

 

  • Previous experience in a project management or project engineering position is essential.
  • Excellent commercial and contractor management skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective and collaborative business partnerships
  • Outcome focused with the ability to pull stakeholders together to achieve a shared result
  • The ability to manage ambiguity in a complex business environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction or Engineering or equivalent industry experience
