About the Role

 

Copper South Australia has set significant aspirational targets to increase production in the province through a series of multi-billion-dollar project investments in facilities such as the smelter, refinery Olympic Dam underground mine, concentrating facilities and the highly prospective Oak Dam greenfield mine.

As a Specialist, Projects Commercial (Major Projects), you will work collaboratively with Commercial teams, Major Project Teams, Project Controls and other Functions to successfully deliver major projects in the Copper South Australia Major Projects portfolio. The successful candidate will demonstrate Charter Values and aim to deliver world class end to end contract management for the projects.

In this role you will:

•    Develop strategies, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage change compliant with corporate governance requirements and relevant statutory obligations
•    Provide contract management support (including administration and leading negotiations) to project teams throughout the contract life-cycle
•    Monitor performance of work under contract at both project and portfolio levels in line with contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
•    Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support
•    Understand and implement principles and methods of dispute avoidance and resolution

About You


Mandatory


•    Experience in a contract and/or commercial role, ideally within a major projects and/or construction environment (eg. mining, defence and infrastructure)
•    Sound commercial acumen and financial evaluation skills, with excellent judgement to deliver the best outcomes for our business
•    Experience on construction projects negotiating contract terms, as well as setting contract and procurement strategies for complex projects
•    A collaborative and inclusive approach, with advanced communication skills
•    Strong multi-tasking and organizational management skills

 

Desirable


•    Tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying/procurement, construction management, engineering, business, finance or legal studies
•    Experience with complex contract models including EPC, EPCM, D&C and partnering
