About the Role


Our Minerals Australia Projects (MAP) team is dedicated to creating and maximizing value for BHP’s assets through the development and safe delivery of capital projects. We currently have multiple opportunities available for Specialist Project Studies and Specialist Project Delivery roles. These positions are open to individuals from diverse backgrounds in the project space who are looking to advance their careers in an impactful environment.
 

In these roles, you will collaborate with a supportive team of professionals, gaining valuable experience in both the study and delivery phases of projects. You will be involved in critical activities such as feasibility assessments, project scheduling, and performance tracking. Your contributions will ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


In this position, you will make an impact by:

 

  • Supporting the execution of projects to ensure safe delivery within approved quality, schedule, cost, and business case targets.
  • Assisting in the implementation of project delivery strategies, methodologies, systems, and execution plans, including risk management and quality assurance processes.
  • Contributing to defining project objectives and schedules while monitoring performance against project plans and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to develop integrated project deliverables that align with business goals.
  • Participating in the identification and management of project risks throughout the study phases, ensuring that potential impacts are addressed proactively.
  • Supporting value optimization initiatives by analyzing project data and providing insights that drive effective decision-making.

 

About You


Our Specialist Project Studies and Delivery roles are ideal for individuals from various project execution backgrounds. You may currently be working in a similar role within our industry or have experience in project management across different sectors. You must be focused on ensuring your team’s safety and comfortable fostering a culture of continuous improvement both in your work and within your team. Your previous experience in project environments will be instrumental in helping you succeed in this role, and while a formal qualification is beneficial, we also value hands-on experience.

Location
 

We have a variety of roster options across different locations, including FIFO, DIDO, and residential arrangements. Whether you prefer an office-based role, fly in from Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth, drive in from nearby towns like Mackay or Emerald, or settle in residential areas such as Roxby Downs or Moranbah, we have several roles with different options available.
