About the Role

 

The Copper SA Integrated Operations Repairable & Warranty team are a dynamic, passionate, and inclusive group who see challenges as opportunities to improve together and demonstrate the company charter values in every task they undertake and the way they work together. 
Join the team and provide specialist expertise to the execution and management of Repairable mechanical components associated with the BHP Copper SA assets and warranty management in consultation with vendors, ensuring downtime, waste and cost are minimised. You will provide sound advice to Work Management and Supply to ensure these Repairables are effectively managed and prioritised. 


In this role you will:

 

  • Forecast, plan, and schedule Repairable component overhauls
  • Review current work in progress (WIP) against plan
  • Report on the overall health of the Repairable and Warranties process
  • Manage the document storage for MDR, ITP and strip reports
  • Review scopes of repair and supporting quotations from our contracting partners
  • Perform vendor inspections and assess the scope of repair and quality
  • Liaise closely with the Work Management Planning and Inventory Planning functions to assist in optimising the forecasting with suppliers and ensure the delivery of required components as per maintenance schedules
  • Provide support to our operations by processing and managing warranty claims within 1SAP
  • Manage the life cycle of Service Exchange components within BHP ensuring the core is returned for credit 

About You

 

  • Passionate about continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
  • Able to influence with credibility ensuring commitment from your team and workgroups
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management within 1SAP
  • Knowledge of the inner workings of vendor repair workshops
  • Good understanding or technical knowledge of an Offsite Overhaul / Repairable process 
  • Proven ability to work autonomously across multiple teams and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Able to travel as required to workshops and operational mine sites
  • Vendor management skills and experience in contract management
  • Trade qualification or Engineering Degree is beneficial but not essential
