About the Role

 

The Specialist Reward Operations - Reward Data & Insights supports the delivery, governance and continuous improvement of BHP’s reward and benefits programs, with a specialised emphasis on data management, modelling, analytics and data driven insights. This role strengthens the team’s capability in data quality, processing and analysis to ensure accurate, reliable and value adding reward operations.

 

Key Accountabilities include: 

 

  • Support Reward initiatives through structured planning, tracking of milestones and risks, and delivery status reporting.
  • Execute reward processes and maintain data integrity across remuneration, benefits and HR datasets. 
  • Deliver reporting for audits, compliance, governance and external commitments. 
  • Support cyclical reward activities (annual review, benchmarking, benefits updates). 
  • Collect, clean, validate and transform reward and HR datasets; identify and resolve data quality issues with SMEs. 
  • Build descriptive and diagnostic analyses, data models and insights across remuneration, benefits and workforce demographics. 
  • Improve digital workflows, templates and reporting tools; support system changes and integration of new data sources. 
  • Apply governance and assurance controls to minimise risk and prevent value leakage. 
  • Partner with HR, Reward, Payroll, Finance and vendors to meet data, reporting and system needs. 
  • Provide guidance on data interpretation and resolve system/data discrepancies.

About You

 

  • Experience in HR operations, reward, remuneration or benefits. 
  • Experience supporting initiatives or projects using structured planning, tracking and reporting approaches.
  • Hands on experience with HR/Reward systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, SAP, ServiceNow). 
  • Demonstrated experience in data cleansing, transformation, modelling and analytics. 
  • Experience delivering cyclical HR processes (e.g., annual salary review, benefits reporting). 
  • Exposure to governance, compliance and assurance for employee data. 
  • Ability to build dashboards, reports and actionable insights; experience in process optimisation or automation. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across HR, Payroll, Finance and Digital/Tech teams.

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of remuneration and benefits; ability to apply HR policies, procedures and governance. 
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline. 
  • Data cleansing, validation, profiling and standardisation. 
  • Understanding of HR master data structures; ability to manage metadata and documentation. 
  • Awareness of data privacy, security and compliance obligations. 
  • Intermediate Excel and HR reporting tools; ability to identify trends and anomalies. 
  • Ability to deliver clear, actionable insights using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Strong communication and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.

 

Nice-to-have: 

 

  • Advanced modelling (statistics, forecasting, scenario modelling). 
  • SQL or other data manipulation skills. 
  • ETL/data pipeline experience; familiarity with automation tools (Power Automate). 
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance. 
  • Benchmarking experience (Mercer, WTW). 
  • Data storytelling and consulting style influence. 
  • Ability to optimise HR system data structures.
