About the Role

 

A Credit & Market Risk Infrastructure Specialist owns and executes critical Credit & Market risk activities and controls across BHP’s commercial activities, in particular sales and marketing. 

 

Inquisitive and curious, they deliver commodity and portfolio level risk insights and trends to the commercial and risk teams, leveraging financial modelling, product control and risk valuation methodologies. 

 

  • Daily curve upload, risk runs, margin reconciliation, price reporting reconciliations, and daily, weekly and monthly trading profit and loss reporting
  • Credit assessment for commercial counterparties, daily credit excess checks, credit limit/block monitoring and routine credit reporting
  • Continuous improvement of risk controls, processes and reporting, and support of associated management of change processes
  • Development of tools and reporting to enhance portfolio-level risk insights 
  • Monitoring and analysis of the commercial portfolio, including trend and exception analysis.

About You

 

  • Degree qualification with at least 2 years working experience in price or credit risk management, product control, internal audit, treasury, commodity trading or data analytics, preferably in commodity, financial or banking industries
  • Professional accreditation with a recognized risk association preferred 
  • Experience and understanding of risk management principles and their application
  • Experience in the practical application of core financial and accounting concepts, preferably gained in banking, trading or commodities
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel is required, with data analytics, data science or coding skills being favourably viewed
