About the role
We are currently seeking applications for Safety Specialists to join our WAIO operations in a permanent position on a FIFO roster. In this role you will support safety outcomes across dynamic and high performing operations. Through proactive engagement and coaching of operational leaders, you will deliver meaningful verification of work practices and standards, driving continuous improvement in safety outcomes, every day.
In this role you will:
- Provide support to Operational teams in delivery of safety improvement initiatives.
- Participate in and facilitate operational investigations and provide process guidance, coaching and quality review;
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through ongoing engagement with site leaders, encouraging and coaching quality field verifications and demonstrating expected standards.
- Thorough review of site and industry HS events, encourage a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements.
- Participate in risk assessments and provide quality reviews.
- Deliver safety training programs to the operations i.e. task based risk management, event investigation facilitation
- Support accurate and transparent HS data reporting and elements of the HSE governance program.
About You
You will be a self-motivated professional with a solid record of accomplishment of achieving results through influence, coaching and mentoring. You will work hard, have fun and support the team to achieve our collective goals.
You will also have:
- A passion for safety and a culture of care
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels in safety
- At least 3 years Health & Safety experience
- Valid unrestricted driver's licence
- Experience with HS management tools
- Coaching and mentoring skills with a desire to help people with a lens of continuous improvement
- Ability to self-motivate, manage priorities and consume data to effectivity deliver safety support.
- Experience in mining industry will be highly regarded
