About the Role

 

Reporting to the Shutdown Coordination Supervisor, the Specialist Shutdown Controller ensures compliance with the WAIO Shutdown Management Standard and escalates any deviations from the plan for their respective maintenance line at Port.

 

You will be the primary interface between site operations and planning and scheduling teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the entire shutdown process for your line.

 

The Specialist Shutdown Controller ensures shutdown duration accuracy within budget and confirms all required reports are finalised and distributed at the conclusion of the shutdown event.

 

  • Delivery of shutdown schedule and governance of yearly budgeted hours for Shutdown Lines of responsibility; Ensuring compliance to Shutdown Management framework through shut planning and execution cycle.
  • Budget compliance for shutdown outage duration and cost, escalates potential deviation.
  • Analyses work management performance against KPIs to identify and deliver improvement initiatives. (e.g., close-out reports).
  • Manage schedule based on pre-determined priorities, current progress and impacts of emerging work required.
  • Interface between site and MECoE specific to shutdown outage information and shutdown readiness activities.
  • Liaise with operations and maintenance teams to validate and challenge scope.
  • Gather feedback and information from site and operations to be collated for post outage review.
  • Organise and facilitate post outage review meeting.
  • Liaise with contractors for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation.
  • Liaising with planners and supervisors with the improvement of shutdown plans.
  • Liaising with shutdown scheduler to ensure schedule is updated during execution to reflect performance against plan.
  • Analyses and ensures S26 job/area owners have the correct time confirmations and escalates gaps to shutdown superintendent.
  • Manage schedule based on pre-determined priorities, current progress and impacts of emerging work required.
  • Liaise with operations and maintenance teams to validate and challenge SARs.
  • During shutdown, responsible for shutdown activities escalation to shutdown superintendent.
  • Responsible for shutdown duration accuracy via DAS and amend as required prior to end of month.

  • Strong fixed plant equipment maintenance knowledge desirable.
  • Must be process driven.

  • Exceptional risk management skills.
