About the Role

 

Working with a team of technical SME’s in our Site Applications team, you will be responsible for engineering activities across a portfolio of 160 Commercial Off the Shelf software products deployed across both IT and OT at WA Iron Ore sites.  

 

 

In this role, your key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Design reactive and preventative maintenance strategies, lifecycle upgrades and enhancement activities to existing products  
  • Develop business cases and project financial models for submission into capital funding pipeline 
  • Provide technical assistance to projects during the delivery of new applications 
  • Write technical specifications, high level designs and other technical documents with input from subject matter experts
  • Take a key role in maintaining hardware and software asset management plans and records
  • Provide input into plans to standardise and optimise operational and technical practices 
  • Identify and contribute to automation of tools and processes to continuously improve both reactive and proactive activities 
  • Identify and action opportunities for consolidation, simplification and increased operational excellence 
  • Work both autonomously and in groups and prioritise work accordingly 
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste 

 

About You

 

  • Strong experience in relevant Engineering (Reliability Engineering or Projects) or IT roles (Solution Architect) in the mining industry – there is support from the team to help upskill you in areas where you may have gaps in experience compared to the role description 
  • Understanding of engineering practices used to maintain and operate systems through their end-to-end lifecycle 
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team of technical specialists 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) across relevant stakeholders to provide quick and accurate responses to all queries and relevant support as required 
  • Degree qualification in Engineering or Information Technology or related field
