Purpose

 

The IT Service Delivery Specialist role sits within the Legacy Assets Technology team at BHP, and will be based in Tucson, AZ where the Legacy Assets (LA) primary office is located. You will be responsible for providing IT technical support and guidance to the LA business stakeholders across United States and Canada. Core accountabilities include IT ticket management, stakeholder management, site visits, and supporting project activities.

 

BHP Technology is a global function with regionally focused teams in each of the relevant continents. This role will report in through the Petroleum & Legacy Assets Technology team, which primarily resides in Houston, TX. The IT Service Delivery Specialist 1-up manager resides in Saskatoon, SK Canada.

About the Role

 

In this role you will:

  • Provide IT technical support for the LA business, supported by team members locally and internationally.
  • Leverage Windows-based software, technical hardware knowledge, and robust troubleshooting capabilities to help resolve a variety of incidents and requests.
  • Work successfully with team members and end users primarily across US and Canada, but also globally.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders at various levels within BHP, adapting your engagement style based on their role and availability.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, this role may require unexpected travel to provide support, or attend conference calls outside regular business hours.
  • Travel to mining operations and offices across US and Canada to provide technical support. Travel within Arizona will be frequent, whereas travel outside AZ will be as-needed and less frequent.
  • Work with safety at the forefront, identify potential hazards prior to performing work, and share ideas to improve ways of working. 
  • Participate in Technology projects and activities.  Develop documentation as required for status updates, knowledgebase articles, or ticket comments. 

 

About You

  • Technology-related degree, diploma, certificate, or 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to problem solve successfully, work under pressure, and think purposefully.
  • Supporting various stakeholders with competing priorities, managing relationships, expectations, and articulate proper action plan
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills in email, documentation, and presentation development.
  • Completed ITIL Foundations, or are familiar with core IT Service Management processes
