About the role 

 

Reporting to the Superintendent. Site Systems and Training, you will be responsible for executing standards and compliance, in addition you will be responsible for: 

•    Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
•    Maintain SHMS compliance in line with relevant legislative requirements and BHP requirements. 
•    Govern our risk management requirements 
•    Provide technical support to applicable SHMS access systems which support Coal Mine Workers (CMW’s)
•    Establish and implement a compliance schedule for the SHMS 
•    Identify and lead initiatives to bridge any identified gaps, facilitate change and embed new systems to support the continuous improvement of the Safety and Health Management system. 
•    Lead and participate in audits (internal and external) and provide guidance on safety and/or risk management related matters  
•    Facilitate risk assessments

About You


The desired candidate will have a minimum 2 years’ experience and have proven success in managing systems in line with QLD coal mining legislation


•    Collaborative and innovative individual who executes continuous improvement initiatives and conversations;
•    Knowledge and experience managing systems in line with QLD coal mining legislation;
•    Experience maintaining and improving risk and safety management systems;
•    Understanding of regulatory bodies, governance and risk management through risk assessments/execution and leading the risk management process;
•    Work with a small site team to execute activities and deliver business visibility across all systems and training;
•    Excellent facilitation, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills;
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills;
