About the Role
In this statutory role you will be accountable for being part of a team maintaining assets supporting the safe and efficient operation of BHP’s Olympic Dam Site.
The team is responsible for strategic inspection, maintenance and defect rectification for concrete and steel structures across this mature site.
Based at Olympic Dam, this role can be offered on a variety of rosters that enable work to fit best with your lifestyle as either FIFO ex-Adelaide or residential.
Reporting to the Superintendent Major Maintenance, you will have responsibility for the following:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Review previous inspection reports in AIMS and 1SAP.
- Scope review and approval
- Defect review and classification
- Review of as built structural drawings.
- Field inspection of concrete and steel structures.
- Identification and reporting of defects with risk ranking.
- Reporting of new defects and changes to existing defects as per AIMS standard.
- Follow 1SAP work management process including daily time confirmations and raising of defects with priorities.
- Provide scope to complete repairs within inspector’s qualifications.
- Participate and lead Problem solving, 5s, MIP and all BOS routines.
- Conduct and complete role confirmations, maintain a WILO.
- Identify, rectify and report through EMS hazards in the workplace.
- Field Leadership verification focused on safety of our people.
About You
- Chartered Structural Engineering qualification (recognised by Engineers Australia).
- 5 years Structural and Civil engineering experience (which includes 2 years’ experience with condition inspections of concrete and steel structures and 3 years’ experience in design commissioning, maintenance or operations).
- Knowledge of Asset Integrity Inspection application desirable.
- Excel and word experience required with 1SAP work management experience advantageous.
- Must be able to work at a high standard autonomously.
- Proven commitment to safety.
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’.
