About the Role
Support with Identification Phase Studies in BHP Minerals Americas through: (i) assist with preparation of key deliverables and organisation of key activities for Identification Phase Studies; (ii) support with reporting on key parameters (cost, schedule, deliverables) for Identification Phase Studies, including monthly reporting activities; and (iii) coordinate involvement of internal stakeholders (Asset and Functions) and external stakeholders (technical, engineering, etc.) for Identification Phase Studies.
Main Accountabilities:
• Overriding commitment with Health, Safety and Environment standards and BHP charter values.
• Build strong relationships and exercise influential role with stakeholders in Assets and Functions.
• Ensure that transparent and timely information is provided to key regional stakeholders, including risks and opportunities identified during the development of the studies.
• Support with the development and quality of project data and reports for Identification Phase Studies.
• Ensure that the identified studies are in line with the Asset's growth plan.
• Monitor and deliver studies in line with approved cost, schedule and scope.
• Coordinate external support (technical, engineering, etc.) for Identification Phase Studies.
• Coordinate key activities (workshops, review sessions etc.) for Identification Phase Studies.
• Implement continuous improvement and lessons learnt on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure alignment among the different stakeholders and facilitate Asset and Function engagement and buy-in to ensure timely and quality delivery of Identification studies.
• Give focus to emerging studies on decarbonization and climate change, as well as Closure processes.
• Act as a line of defense ensuring that the studies promoted by the Asset are in line with the plans.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to engage external and internal stakeholders.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
• Professional degree in Engineering (metallurgical, chemical, process or similar) or commercial.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in mining industry desirable, with experience in operations and / or studies and project management highly desirable.
• Fluent oral and written Spanish, and intermediate oral and written English.
*The role will be based in Antofagasta.
