The challenge ahead
At BHP, you will play a key role in supporting our sustainability agenda in Brazil through the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives, sustainability programs, and reparation-related activities. You will work across multiple workstreams, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, supporting governance and reporting processes, and contributing to environmental and social initiatives aligned with our values and commitments.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of sustainability and reparation initiatives by coordinating activities, monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and helping ensure the delivery of key commitments and objectives.
- Coordinate governance, planning, and reporting processes, including project plans, action trackers, budgets, presentations, meeting materials, and management reports that support decision-making and program delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting engagement with business leaders, functional teams, communities, consultants, and other relevant parties.
- Provide analytical and problem-solving support by gathering and analyzing information, identifying insights, and developing recommendations to address operational, sustainability, and stakeholder-related challenges.
- Support financial and administrative management activities, including budget tracking, invoice management, procurement processes, contract administration, and other operational requirements associated with sustainability programs and projects.
- Contribute to environmental and social workstreams, applying sustainability and ESG knowledge to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, briefing materials, and reports tailored to different audiences, ensuring clear and effective communication of key messages.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen governance, enhance controls, and support the overall effectiveness of sustainability programs.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification, specialization, or MBA is considered an advantage.
- Approximately 5 to 10 years of professional experience.
- Experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, social performance, stakeholder engagement, corporate responsibility, project management, or related areas.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously within dynamic and fast-changing environments.
- Exposure to project management, PMO, governance, budgeting, procurement, or contract management activities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing presentations and reports for senior stakeholders.
- Previous exposure to environmental and/or social sustainability topics will be highly valued.
- Experience in mining, infrastructure, energy, industrial operations, or community-related projects is advantageous.
- Fluency in both English and Portuguese is mandatory.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
